With over 30 years of experience spanning technology, business, and leadership, Shaun has built a rare depth of insight. His journey wasn’t confined to textbooks—it was shaped by real-world experience, hands-on execution, and continuous learning.

It began at McDonald’s, where Shaun learned the art of doing—progressing from a newbie crew member to trainer, then becoming one of the youngest shift managers in the state. There, he mastered process-driven thinking, efficiency, and leadership under pressure, skills that would later shape his approach to technology and business.

From there, Shaun moved into software development, specialising in lending management systems. While these systems were rooted in accounting, their impact extended across the business. A prime example? One hour of coding eliminated a manual task, freeing up an employee from stuffing envelopes to a more fulfilling role that utilised their skills. This reinforced an early lesson: technology isn’t just about automation—it’s about enabling people to do more meaningful work.

As a CTO, Shaun bridged the gap between technical execution and business goals. Now, as an executive advisor, he helps businesses navigate complexity, anticipate challenges, and turn strategy into action.

True learning isn’t about memorisation—it’s about learning how to learn. Shaun’s ability to adapt, synthesise knowledge across industries, and think critically means he doesn’t just execute strategies—he builds frameworks that create lasting success.

Do I bill hourly or per project?

Ultimately, it’s about the value of the outcomes we achieve together and the type of engagement we agree on.

We both need to get value from our collaboration; otherwise, it won’t feel right.

If you want to pick my brain like a lawyer, I’ll charge by the hour, reflecting the experience required.

Suppose you need me to perform surgery on your business. In that case, my rate will depend on whether it’s a significant operation or just a minor fix, much like a doctor’s approach to different procedures.

How big is the Kadeo team?

Shaun is Kadeo, but I’ve got a ‘little black book’ full of awesome people who can help me, help you, and achieve your wicked outcomes.

Think of me as a digital matchmaker. Once we know what you’re looking for, and how we will achieve it I’ll reach into that little black book. Then, together we will support you to bring your outcome to fruition.

Can we engage you to be onsite at my location / office?

I have moved away from ‘corporate life’ to focus on solving complex and exciting wicked problems.

Think of it as a first date; let’s catch up over Zoom, or a coffee if our paths easily cross. Once that’s out of the way we can chat about me coming over.

The usual Kadeo engagement is ‘Remote First,’ which uses async tools like Zoom and Loom and the odd cartoon in emails.

All the same, an in-person kickoff meeting around the table can make perfect sense for larger projects!
